Qualifications & Insurance

Upon completing your practical training, you will receive an accredited certificate that qualifies you to apply for beauty insurance, enabling you to begin working on members of the public. This allows you to operate on a self-employed basis (mobile services) and take payments for your services.

Our accredited courses are covered by Professional Beauty Direct (PBD), offering discounted insurance for Vspa Spa and Beauty Academy students. You can also obtain insurance with PBD for all of our accredited courses, or you may choose an alternative insurance provider that accepts our qualifications.

Accredited Courses vs. Approved Courses

  • Accredited Courses: Our accredited qualifications are officially recognised within the beauty industry. These courses allow you to apply for industry-standard insurance through providers such as Professional Beauty Direct (PBD). Completing accredited courses ensures you are fully qualified to offer treatments to the public with insurance coverage in place.
  • Approved Courses: Our E-Courses are approved by bGI.UK, meaning they are not accredited but are still recognised for insurance purposes. These courses provide valuable training and allow you to obtain insurance with certain providers. While they are not accredited, you can still gain full insurance coverage and legally work in the industry.

Insurance Coverage

For both accredited and approved courses, we recommend securing insurance through PBD, as they provide reliable and affordable coverage. However, you are free to shop around and find an insurance provider that suits your needs. It is essential to confirm with the insurer that they will accept the course qualification before booking.

If you already have an existing insurance policy, it is your responsibility to ensure that your provider will extend coverage to include any new treatments. If necessary, you will be responsible for any costs associated with modifying your policy. Vspa Spa and Beauty Academy cannot be held liable for insurance issues that arise from failing to confirm insurance acceptance before booking your course.

Refresher Training

To keep your skills sharp and ensure your knowledge is up to date, we recommend that you begin practising the treatments as soon as possible after completing your course. You will receive Practical Training Notes via email with your booking confirmation to assist you in revising the techniques and processes you learned.

Before offering services to paying clients, you must have public liability insurance in place. Should you feel the need for additional training or refresher sessions, we offer these for an additional fee. Please don’t hesitate to contact our Support Team for more details or if you have any questions.
